Role Overview
The Yield Technology Equipment group offers defect detection, metrology, analysis, and sourcing to rapidly identify and address defect excursions in the fab. We work alongside other process areas to provide an early signal of the feasibility of process conversions. This role ensures that RDA and metrology tools and engineers provide essential information to internal customers throughout all phases of the manufacturing cycle.
The engineer may also support high‑volume manufacturing locations in resolving critical gap issues on optical and eBeam systems installed in production fabs.
- Develop procedures to automate toolsets, resolve defect gaps, and boost the efficiency of inspection and review recipes.
- Collaborate with module owners to ensure recipe quality.
- Resolve recipe issues identified through quality checks or by process owners.
- Undertake projects related to inspection and review to improve automation and efficiency of toolsets.
- Maintain records of recipe changes and build training guides to improve future node inspection or review techniques.
- Develop new methods for inspection and review along with sampling techniques.
- Work closely with the technology development organization and high‑volume manufacturing sites to align on tool strategies and techniques.
- Track and monitor tool maintenance and collaborate with vendors on tool issues.
- Coordinate statistical process control charts.
- Serve as liaison between Micron engineering and vendors.
- In‑depth knowledge of semiconductor equipment and processes.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in analyzing large data sets.
- High degree of organization and attention to detail.
- Proactive problem‑solving skills and data‑driven decision‑making ability.
- Proven history of working both independently and as part of a team.
BS or equivalent experience in Engineering or Physics. Experience with semiconductor inspection equipment.
