Overview
The Lead Event Technician will assist in producing live events at the Sun Valley Resort in collaboration with visiting crews and the Pavilion Technical Director. The ideal candidate would have a background in entertainment, audio and video tech, and live event production. The candidate will also have a passion for teamwork and variety and a willingness to do whatever it takes to get the job done.
Responsibilities- Operate the sound or lighting systems, mix live shows, and run sound checks
- Coordinate with TD to plan and execute the technical sound aspects of each show, including patch configurations
- Essential maintenance and troubleshooting of audio and lighting equipment
- Work closely with visiting crews and other departments to ensure professional execution of the show
- Assist with the setup of daily rehearsals and concerts, changing as concert schedule and layout dictates
- Maintain safe working conditions and practices by industry standards and governing bodies
- Attend all rehearsals and production meetings as needed
- Light office work such as filing, sorting, etc.
- General help with all Pavilion operations, including cleaning and other tasks
- Fulfill various roles in concerts/productions, such as using ladders, lifts, essential harness grid work, and hanging light fixtures
- Assist with load-in/load-out of road shows and must be able to set up and strike all internal sound/lighting equipment as needed
- Lead and delegate responsibilities to a small team of technicians
- Set up and tear down stages, PA systems, and all equipment for live events
- Assistance with building upkeep and basic cleaning will also be required
- Proficiency in digital and analog sound systems, including Yamaha, Behringer, Avid systems, and lighting, rigging, and controlling lighting for live events
- Knowledge of ETC and Grand MA lighting systems, ETC Net Networked Lighting Systems
- A history of sound processing equipment, including Meyer Galileo and d&b Audio’s DS family of processors
- Experience in audio networking, including Dante, Madi, and AES
50 - Willing to assist in all aspects of production, including sound, lighting, and video
- Be flexible and work independently and collaboratively in a rapidly changing environment; must also coordinate with multiple departments to ensure the success of shows
- Engage in physical activities like standing for long periods, walking, and utilizing hands for tasks that involve gripping, handling, poking, and reaching
- Can safely lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
