PLAYER DEVELOPMENT HOST – Full Time – Fort Hall, – $16.85 To $22.75 Hourly
SummaryResponsible for identifying, developing, and retaining premium players with a strong emphasis on new customer development. All activities that the casino host conducts aim to retain, reactivate, or recruit VIP guests.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Provide high‑level guest service by greeting all guests with a positive and cheerful tone.
- Promote and inform guests about the Players Club program, casino entertainment, amenities, off‑site attractions, hotels, and restaurants across multiple properties.
- Maintain detailed knowledge of all promotional events, daily activities, and the multiple casino properties.
- Assist the Marketing Team with all specials events, including invitations, concerts, parties, and parades, on and off‑site.
- Assist guests with hotel reservations and casino registrations.
- Issue redemption vouchers for prizes and points in accordance with company criteria and standards.
- Input, verify, and update player data.
- Operate and maintain casino software such as OASIS, scanners, Word, and Excel.
- Communicate effectively in person, by phone, intercom/microphone, radio, and in writing.
- Handle routine guest complaints and incidents with professionalism and discretion.
- Follow all company policies, procedures, house rules, and regulations.
- Maintain a Know Your Customer (KYC) file for all hosted players.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of records, documents, and private information processed in the department.
- Demonstrate a positive professional manner and teamwork.
- Show effort and commitment to all tasks.
- Maintain guest accounts to keep player balances and information up‑to‑date.
- Monitor marketing software for carded and un‑carded players.
- Walk the floor to assist un‑carded players with new accounts or card reprints.
- Maintain regular contact with VIP players via telemarketing, e‑mail, social media, video marketing, and personal correspondence to build loyalty.
- Evaluate guest play for issuance of appropriate complementary offers.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure effective service for VIP guests.
- Package VIP premiums for special events, parties, and other VIP activities.
- Increase gaming revenues in the VIP segment of the database.
- Achieve specific revenue goals for carded players as determined by the Assistant Player Service Manager.
- Review carded players daily.
- Create and execute VIP events based on approved criteria.
- Prepare and mail birthday/anniversary cards, newsletters, and personal notes to VIP customers when possible.
- Maintain knowledge of Minimum Internal Control Standards, Tribal Internal Controls, and Title 31.
- Practice safe work habits.
- Perform other activities and duties necessary to carry out the position functions.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Motivated self‑starter with a strong attention to detail.
- Knowledge of casino industry trends and local demographics.
- Knowledge of effective marketing strategies and media placement specifications.
- Strong communication, analytical, and decision‑making abilities.
- Experience in high‑level customer service in a fast‑paced environment.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, with excellent attendance.
- Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, databases, presentations, e‑mail, and player tracking systems.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of player information.
- High school diploma or GED required; one (1) year or more of previous host or sales experience; or one (1) year or more of casino experience or service‑industry work.
- Associate’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field with three (3) years of casino experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field with five (5) or more years of casino/marketing experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- No supervisory responsibilities.
- Must submit supporting documents of education and training.
- Must obtain and maintain a gaming license in good standing.
- Must pass a complete background investigation and drug/alcohol screening.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and qualify for fleet management coverage.
- Must perform required physical demands, including standing for long periods and lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Must adhere to safety requirements, including daily safety practices.
