Expected Semimonthly Salary: $4,576.00

Salary Range: $134,000 - $160,000 annually

Overview

Under the supervision of the Workday Administrator, the Workday Specialist – FIN provides functional and technical support for Workday Financial Management applications used by Finance, People & Culture, and other departments. The role supports system configuration, user security, reporting, data integrity, day‑to‑day operations, and ongoing management of the Workday Financial suite. The Specialist works collaboratively, provides functional leadership, and serves as the primary liaison between Finance, IT, and external vendors to ensure accurate, compliant, and efficient financial system operations.

Responsibilities
  • Administration, support, maintenance & governance of Workday Financial modules (35%)
  • Implementation & optimization of Workday Financial features (30%)
  • Reporting & analytics, including custom reporting, dashboards, and data analysis (15%)
  • Integration & data management, including third‑party platform integrations (10%)
  • Engagement & communication with stakeholders (10%)
  • Maintain awareness of current and emerging trends in the Workday ecosystem and related technologies
  • Participate in departmental, agency and professional meetings and work groups as assigned
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field
  • 5+ years supporting, configuring or administering large‑scale ERP systems (e.g., Workday, SAP, Oracle)
  • Proven experience leading ERP financial implementations, post‑production support, upgrades or large‑scale enhancements
  • Deep understanding of financial processes and operations (AP, AR, GL, internal controls, GAAP compliance, financial close, balance‑sheet lifecycle, journal entries, financial statements, reporting)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Experience supporting ERP system integrations with banking, payroll, procurement, general ledger and balance‑sheet platforms
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and industry manuals
  • Proficiency with reporting and analytic tools, custom reporting, dashboards, calculated fields and system‑generated reporting
  • Preferred:
    Grant or Fund Accounting experience
Work Conditions

Hybrid schedule – 3 days per week on‑site in Chatsworth, CA headquarters (possible increase to remote days after introductory period). Full‑time, Monday‑Friday, with occasional non‑traditional hours such as early mornings, late evenings and weekends. Standard office environment with moderate background noise.

Travel

Some travel/business driving required for all staff, major events and specified meetings.

Background & Health Clearance

Background check, living scan clearance, health clearance, MVR/DMV clearance, child development permit, CPR/Pediatric CPR certification, federal debarment checks, credit and bankruptcy check as applicable. Requirements vary by role and regulatory context.
