About the Role
As the first point of contact for most clients, Tellers at Columbia Bank play a key role in delivering the bank’s Breakthrough Client Service Standards. The Teller’s primary responsibility is to ensure banking transactions are performed accurately, ethically, and in compliance with Columbia Bank procedures and banking regulations.
- Conduct teller transactions such as deposits, withdrawals, cash advances, payments, transfers, check cashing, and balancing the cash drawer.
- Perform daily operational tasks that maintain branch integrity, including double‑custody checks on the ATM, processing night‑drop deposits, balancing negotiable instruments, handling returned mail, and updating lobby rate sheets.
- Mitigate risk by safeguarding the cash drawer, ensuring prompt accounting or fund transfers, and promptly addressing any discrepancies.
- Build client relationships through meaningful conversations, uncovering client needs and recommending appropriate bank products and services.
- Support branch referral goals by identifying and referring basic bank products to the appropriate business partner.
- Collaborate with external and internal clients, anticipating needs and providing proactive solutions that align with the bank’s client service standards.
- High School Diploma or GED (required).
- At least 1 year of prior banking or customer service experience (preferred).
- Bilingual is preferred.
- Able to learn and comply with all bank policies, procedures, and systems.
- Exhibits exceptional attention to detail and accuracy with written numbers, words, and both verbal and written instructions.
- Consistently demonstrates the ability and willingness to build relationships with clients and other bank associates.

PayThe pay range for this role is $18.00–$20.00 per hour. The specific rate for the selected candidate depends on non‑discriminatory factors such as job‑related knowledge, skills, experience, education, and geographic location. The role may be eligible for performance‑based incentive compensation.
