Job Title

Serves as the single point of contact to coordinate victim advocacy, support, and response activities.

Job Description

Duties include:

  • Serving as the single point of contact to coordinate victim advocacy, support, and response activities.
  • Managing SAPR reports and referrals, including data entry of official reports of sexual assault, case management, and SAPR related inquiries into the Department of Defense Sexual Assault Incident Database (DSAID) and reports of sexual harassment by DAF Service members into the Military Sexual Harassment Advocacy Database (MSHAD), ensuring compliance with DoD and Service policies, legal requirements, and guidelines ensuring a high level of data quality.
  • Assisting with administrative and training programs, improvement initiatives, and program evaluation by providing feedback and suggestions to the Principal SARC, as applicable.
  • Ensuring that the organization's strategic plan, mission, vision, and values are communicated to the SAPR VAs and integrated into the team's strategies, goals, objectives, work plans, work products, and services.

  • Depending on the type of position (competitive/excepted) you are selected for, you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period OR 2-year trial period.
  • Upon completion of your probationary/trial period, your employment will be terminated unless you receive certification, in writing, that your continued employment advances the public interest.
  • A bachelor's degree in a behavioral or social science; or related disciplines is highly desired;
    Four or more years of appropriate experience in either behavioral or social science equivalent is highly desired.
  • Four years of experience in victim assistance or advocacy within military or civilian sector (two years as a SARC or SAPR VA preferred);
    Supervisory or project management experience is highly desired.
  • This position has been identified as a position of public trust IAW DOD policy.
  • Minimum of Tier 3 Background investigation that must be IAW DoD and OPM requirements and augmented by a State Criminal History Record Check (SCHRC) or enrollment in Continuous Evaluation (CE) is required.
  • All applicable personnel must have completed a Federal Bureau of Investigations fingerprint check and Defense Central Index of Investigations check (or equivalent military records, or State records check for National Guard Bureau).
  • This position requires a high degree of discretion in relation to sensitive information of which the incumbent is aware.
  • The work requires the employee to drive a POV/GOV. An appropriate, valid driver's license is required for this position.
  • Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.
  • This is a Mission-Essential position performing a Mission-Critical-Function which must continue uninterrupted after the occurrence of an emergency and continued through full resumption of all functions.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Professional and Scientific Positions, 0101 Series. BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT:
Degree: behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position.
