QUALIFICATIONS:

Candidates must hold an active and current license as a Registered Pharmacist in the state of Idaho. A minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy is required, with a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) preferred. Applicants should have at least three years of clinical experience within a Community Health Center, Indian Health Service, or tribal health setting. Additionally, a minimum of three years of managerial or supervisory experience in a pharmacy is required.

Experience in specialty, compounding, and infusion pharmacy is preferred. Must have received or be willing to receive COVID
19 vaccination per current hiring policies.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Hearing: within normal limits with or without use of corrective hearing devices.
  • Vision: adequate to read 12-point type with or without use of corrective lenses.
  • Must be able to verbally interact with staff, clients, and public.
  • Manual dexterity of hands/fingers for writing and data entry.
  • Able to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Standing 50% of the day.
  • Walking 50% of the day.
  • Pushing up to 30 lbs.
  • Pulling up to 20 lbs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manages all aspects of Marimn Health pharmacy.
  • Develops and maintains a positive work environment, focusing on the highest levels of customer service and quality care.
  • Manages all personnel within the department including but not limited to: productivity, quality, scheduling, performance evaluation and management, disciplinary action when required, training and development.
  • Ensures all credentialing and privileging requirements are met for Pharmacy staff.
  • Responsible for accuracy and tracking of medication inventory at reasonable levels, including tracking of medication errors.
  • Meets accreditation requirements for Pharmacy, including monitoring polypharmacy and pharmacy & therapeutic updates and evaluations.
  • Develops “Standards of Care” for visit planning and processing of patients. Seeks opportunities and participates in QI activities.
  • Prepares reports and attends meetings as necessary.
  • Chairs Quartey P&T Committee and departmental meeting once a month and sends copies of meeting minutes to QI and supervisor.
  • Functions as a clinical pharmacist, balances clinical/administration work schedule to maximize clinical duties given the administrative duties to accomplish pharmacy and medical goals.
  • Works collaboratively with Marimn Health team and providers, keeping supervisor informed.
  • Develops process for reviewing standing orders that include medications annually.
  • Communicates regularly with medical providers, nursing, and other Marimn Health staff regarding patient care and opportunities to provide excellent service.
  • Consults with providers on the appropriateness of drug therapy. Develops and conducts drug utilization reviews for the medical staff.
  • Provides an environment and role models behavior consistent with quality patient care focused on breaking down barriers to patient access.
  • Provides teaching and verifying that patients understand their medications and appropriate outcomes of their drug therapy.
  • Provides drug info, drug therapy consultation, and staff education relating to drug therapy.
  • Manages therapy for selected patients when drugs are the primary method of treatment.
  • Consults with the Revenue Manager about third party billing and assists in developing integrated billing software package and fee increases and/or adjustments.
  • Implements and oversees peer review system.
  • Monitors quality indicators and conducts/coordinates required audits and reviews of program activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.
