We are seeking a compassionate and dependable Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide high-quality direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of the charge nurse. This role supports patients with activities of daily living, promotes comfort and dignity, and helps maintain a safe, clean, and supportive care environment.
- Assist with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges.
- Provide daily personal care, including bathing, grooming, oral hygiene, dressing, and linen changes.
- Support patients with morning and evening care routines.
- Obtain and accurately document vital signs, intake/output, and weights as directed; promptly report abnormalities.
- Assist with feeding, hydration, and meal setup in accordance with dietary restrictions.
- Help patients with toileting, peri-care, and maintaining personal hygiene.
- Turn, reposition, and assist with mobility using proper body mechanics and equipment (e.g., gait belts, lifts).
- Observe and report changes in patient condition, including pain, skin integrity issues, or behavioral changes.
- Provide comfort care, including support for end-of-life patients and postmortem care.
- Anticipate and respond promptly to patient needs, including answering call lights.
- Follow daily assignment sheets and complete all assigned tasks efficiently.
- Communicate effectively with the care team to ensure continuity and quality of care.
- Participate in shift handoffs to ensure accurate transfer of patient information.
- Maintain organized, clean patient rooms and work areas throughout the shift.
- Adhere to infection control practices and standard/universal precautions at all times.
- Support a respectful, compassionate environment for patients and families.
- Assist with clerical duties (e.g., answering phones) when needed.
- Maintain cleanliness of unit areas, including utility rooms, kitchens, and equipment.
- Prepare rooms for new admissions and notify housekeeping when ready.
- Ensure patient environments are safe and free from hazards.
- Properly use and maintain equipment, including mechanical lifts.
- Complete required education, competencies, and training.
- Actively participate in team meetings and contribute constructive input.
- Follow all organizational policies and procedures.
- Support departmental goals and quality improvement initiatives.
- Document work accurately and in a timely manner.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
This position operates in a hospital setting and requires frequent walking, standing, and physical activity. The role may involve exposure to infectious diseases, blood and bodily fluids, chemicals, and unpredictable patient or visitor behavior. Adherence to safety protocols is required at all times.
Requirements- Current Certified Nursing Assistant certification in the State of Idaho or enrolled in current program and certified within 120 days of hire
