Medical Assistant – Part‑Time (1 day per week)

Beacon Clinic opened its new office in Sandpoint, Idaho in July 2026. We are looking for a Medical Assistant to support our oncology team on day‑to‑day operations.

Responsibilities
  • Rooming patients, collecting vital signs, specimens, administers shots, and carries out orders (i.e., labs, biopsies, referrals)
  • Assists with patient intake forms, including social and family history, medication list, review of systems and preventative measures
  • Prepares patient charts and reviews imaging, labs, pathology, and other reports to ensure all patient records are current
  • Schedules follow‑up appointments with patients, prior‑authorization procedures, and hospital admissions
  • Return phone calls within 24 to 48 hours of receipt
  • Monitors patient progress and evaluates follow‑up actions required to meet the patients’ needs by providing quality care throughout patient experience
  • Evaluates documents and distributes applicable clinical correspondence in a timely fashion
  • Completes phlebotomy, routine or specialty blood draws, handling of applicable specimen processing and quality controls
  • Performs EKG’s testing per provider orders
  • Performs medical refill requests and helps triage patient calls along with managing patient referrals to hospitals or other ambulatory facilities
  • Ensures exam rooms are clean, stocked, and ready for patients
  • Assists providers with patient exams and procedures as needed
Required Skills & Abilities
  • Compassionate and caring bedside manner
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Detail‑oriented and organized
  • Manages conflict with good resolutions
  • Ability to multi‑task and anticipate needs of providers
  • Proficient in EKG, venipuncture, and managing lab work and genetic testing – a plus
Education & Certifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • CMA certificate or equivalent experience and willingness to earn CMA certification required
  • Three years of experience as a medical assistant or related role preferred
  • Medical oncology terminology strongly preferred
  • CPR/BLS certification required upon hire

Compensation

Starting at $22/hour and up DOE.
