Description
The Supply Chain Technician is responsible for receiving, processing, and distribution of all supplies associated with hospital setting, as well as appropriate documentation of these activities in accordance with hospital/ department policies and procedures. This role is to communicate with all departments regarding their current and future needs and maintain the department in the absence of the Supply Chain Manager.
Requirements JOB DUTIES- Maintains storeroom inventories at min/max as directed by Materials Management Supervisor.
- Receives and processes all materials delivered to the facility.
- Properly disperses all materials to various locations in the storeroom and facility.
- Check all documents for accuracy prior to the processing of packing slips, purchase orders, etc.
- Receives, reviews, and fills all stock lists from departments on specified days.
- Maintains Materials Management in the absence of the Materials Management Supervisor.
- Maintains a professional working relationship with all vendors and in-house customers.
- Maintains all areas of material storage in a neat and organized manner, utilizing proper rotation.
- Fills spur of the moment department orders according to priority.
- Interfaces with staff members of the user departments to determine the need for additions or deletions in relation to the par level system (weekly stock lists)
- Maintains the computer inventory control system by processing deliveries, issuance, invoices, etc., all in a timely manner.
- Processes outgoing shipments following hospital, UPS, Fed Ex, and vendor policies
- Assists in placing orders with vendors and processing invoices.
- Assists with any other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or Equivalency.
- Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
- Good interpersonal skills including dealing with patients, families, co-workers, other departments and health care professionals
- Basic Math Skills
- Basic to intermediate knowledge in computer use, including word processing and spreadsheet applications.
- Excellent organizational skills
- Supply chain management experience
- Experience working in a healthcare environment
- Additional languages – Spanish Preferred
