Candidates selected for consideration must be willing and available to provide a Letter of Commitment to Vision IT for inclusion in the contract proposal submission. The Letter of Commitment will demonstrate the candidate's intent and availability to support Vision IT in the event the contract is awarded. Submission of a Letter of Commitment does not constitute an employment offer and does not guarantee employment, start date, or contract award.
Final employment is contingent upon contract award, funding, government approval, successful completion of applicable onboarding requirements, and the candidate meeting all security and position requirements.
Position Overview
Vision IT is seeking an experienced IT Coordinator to support a potential contract with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Naval Reactors Laboratory Field Office (NRLFO) Mission Support Division at the Idaho Branch Office (IBO), located at the Naval Reactors Facility (NRF). This position is contingent upon contract award. The IT Coordinator will provide on-site IT coordination, technical support, project coordination, and customer service to NRLFO personnel.
This position serves as a key interface between NRLFO employees, Naval Reactors IT organizations, site personnel, and supporting technical teams. The successful candidate will combine hands-on IT support with project coordination, asset and software management, telecommunications support, issue resolution, documentation, and process improvement. This position requires an organized, customer-focused, technically capable professional who can manage multiple priorities while operating in a security-conscious and mission-critical environment.
Key Responsibilities
IT Support & Coordination
Provide day-to-day IT support to NRLFO personnel and coordinate specialized technical support with site IT organizations.
Respond to general IT questions and troubleshoot hardware, software, connectivity, and user issues.
Coordinate and track resolution of technical issues through appropriate IT support channels.
Execute IT activities associated with employee onboarding and offboarding.
Maintain an accurate knowledgebase of NRLFO hardware, software, and technology resources.
Support equipment refreshes, installations, configurations, deliveries, asset tracking, and related documentation.
Assist with software approvals, installation, configuration, testing, and ongoing support.
Coordinate connectivity and configuration issues involving non-enterprise systems.
Arrange or provide training for specialized hardware and software.
Monitor open NRLFO IT tickets and assist with prioritization, tracking, escalation, and resolution within established service-level agreements.
Identify recurring IT issues and trends and recommend solutions to improve employee productivity and customer satisfaction.
IT Projects & Process Improvement
Coordinate IT support for project-oriented requests, initiatives, and technology enhancements.
Develop and implement solutions to streamline NRLFO IT processes.
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through technology, automation, and process improvements.
Support software application development and technology-enhancement initiatives as required.
Track IT projects, tasks, priorities, milestones, deadlines, risks, and completion status.
Coordinate with NRLFO IT personnel and supporting site organizations to ensure requirements are clearly understood and completed.
Assist with requirements gathering, implementation planning, testing, and deployment of IT solutions.
Provide recommendations to management regarding technology, processes, and user-support improvements.
Telecommunications & Collaboration Technology
Coordinate scheduling, installation, troubleshooting, configuration, and support for telecommunications services.
Support voice technologies, including telephones, voicemail, audio conferencing, and mobile devices.
Support data connectivity and related services.
Support video and collaboration technologies, including videoconferencing systems, webcams, and related equipment.
Coordinate telecommunications requirements for new and transferred employees.
Work with appropriate technical organizations to resolve voice, data, and video issues.
Documentation & Administration
Maintain accurate records and documentation for IT tasks, projects, installations, equipment, software, and support activities.
Maintain project and task tracking documentation reflecting priorities, progress, deadlines, risks, and completion.
Provide weekly status briefings to NRLFO IT management.
