Job Summary
Buyers are responsible for procurement of goods, quality compliance and inventory management.
Responsibilities- Manages supply chain risks
- Builds long-term, collaborative relationships with preferred suppliers
- Procures customized items
- Evaluates supplier quotes and services
- Evaluates supplier performance
- Identifies qualified vendors for difficult-to-source items
- Evaluates cost saving opportunities and presents findings
- Evaluates forecasts to maintain desired inventory levels
- Prepares, issues, and maintains purchase orders for timely delivery
- Executes inventory replenishment requests
- Maintains factory shortage reports
- Assists in the investigation of non-conforming materials and takes corrective action
- Assists in the reconciliation of receiving, invoicing, and billing discrepancies
- Coordinates the return of non-conforming material
- Maintains procurement records, including ERP data and notations
- Other purchasing duties as assigned
