Job Summary
Supply Chain Services Buyer reports to the Assistant Director, Supply Chain.
Responsibilities- Coordinate and expedite the flow of materials, parts, and assemblies for designated departments throughout the hospital supply chain according to production delivery schedules and department priorities.
- Review and communicate with departments regarding product concerns and problem solving, including covering product substitution needs and expediting orders and deliveries.
- Create purchase orders, place orders, track, and review inventory daily based on department priorities and product availability.
- Gauge the number of materials needed to complete order requests by applying knowledge of product, manufacturing, and vendor delivery processes.
- Work closely with management to prepare for vendor negotiations on products and pricing.
- Compile and maintain manual and computerized records, such as vendor information, packing slips, in‑process reports, status of items, recalls, and usage.
- Move and transport items/materials from one department to another.
- Examine delivered materials, verifying package/material integrity and specifications.
- Coordinate product returns and/or recalls.
- Work closely with finance on invoice reconciliation and purchase order discrepancies.
- Ensure approval for Capital Equipment Requests (CERF) is received with all proper pricing validations to complete purchase orders and deliveries.
- Manage all additional tasks as assigned, serving as a resource for Supply Chain Services.
- Advanced user experience with Workday.
- Development capabilities of business performance metrics.
- Analytic skills with familiarity in healthcare applications such as GHX, ECRI, Vizient tools (Catalog, VSA, Data Lynx, Aptitude), and Symplr Spend.
- Computer application skills with Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn new systems and processes in a timely manner.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills with a high level of integrity, leadership, and teamwork.
- Self‑starter with the ability to work independently under pressure and react quickly to changing priorities.
- Meticulous attention to detail and understanding of accounting procedures.
- Strong contract negotiation strategies and techniques.
- Intermediate knowledge in the implementation of policies and procedures.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university plus 3 years of supply chain or business office experience.
- Associate degree or equivalent from an accredited college or university plus 5 years of supply chain or business office experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent plus 7 years of supply chain or business office experience.
- Lean Six Sigma and 6S Standards Training and Certifications preferred.

CompensationPosition Type:
Regular. Pay Range (based on years of applicable experience): $33.50 to $44.82. Shift differentials:
Hourly Evening Shift Differential $2.56, Hourly Night Shift Differential $3.83.
