Position Summary

Deriva Energy is seeking a Procurement Specialist to support development‑stage procurement activities across its utility‑scale solar and energy storage portfolio. This role is responsible for supporting strategic sourcing, supplier engagement, and commercial execution for major project scopes, including long‑lead equipment and EPC‑related services. The position partners closely with development, engineering, legal, finance, and project execution teams to align procurement strategy with project schedules, interconnection requirements, and overall commercial objectives.

This position will be located at Deriva Energy Headquarters in Charlotte, NC.

Main Responsibilities
  • Support strategic sourcing activities for development projects, including major equipment (modules, inverters, transformers, switch gear), EPC services, and long‑lead materials
  • Assist in developing and executing procurement strategies aligned with project schedules, interconnection milestones, and budget targets
  • Prepare and issue RFPs and RFQs, evaluate proposals, and support various stakeholders across Deriva
  • Support negotiations and execution of key project agreements, including equipment supply agreements and EPC agreements
  • Coordinate vendor qualification, equipment selection, and supplier onboarding
  • Track procurement milestones and supplier deliverables to support project timelines
  • Support supplier performance management and issue resolution
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies and internal controls
  • Support standardization of procurement processes, templates, and commercial terms
Basic Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree with one (1) year or more of relative work experience
  • In lieu of an associate’s degree, high school diploma/GED plus two (2) years or more of related experience
Desired Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree with two (2) years or more of relative experience
  • Experience supporting procurement for renewable energy, infrastructure, or construction‑related projects
  • Strong contract negotiation experience across equipment supply, EPC, or construction agreements
  • Working knowledge of commercial terms including performance guarantees, liquidated damages, warranties, indemnities, and schedule risk allocation
  • Familiarity with development‑stage procurement and interconnection‑driven timelines
  • Understanding of supplier performance management in project environments
  • Experience operating in a SOX‑controlled environment with strong procurement governance and audit support
  • Understanding of commercial risk allocation and supplier performance management
  • Experience with procure‑to‑pay (P2P) processes and ERP systems (e.g., IBM Maximo and Net Suite)
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and written communication skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating across cross‑functional teams
Working Conditions

Based in Charlotte, North Carolina (Headquarters). Four days in‑office required, with option to work one day remotely. Must reside within reasonable commuting distance to the designated office location or be willing to relocate immediately.
