Snow Removal Technician

SUMMARY

The Snow Removal Technician will work as a member of the Base Operations team to open, remove, and maintain resort roads and parking areas as assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Other duties may be assigned, including weekend work.

• Recognize and report all equipment failure to the manager and the Vehicle Maintenance staff.
• Responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of all equipment.
• Operate equipment safely and efficiently on the mountain, including dozers, excavators, loaders, backhoes and any other equipment needed.
• Support other department operation needs with equipment.
• Assist in training less experienced operators on equipment operation.
• Obtain knowledge of the company utility locating policy and implementation of it.
• Provide excellent customer service to guests, property owners, homeowners, club members and fellow employees.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requires knowledge of computer hardware, word-processing, spreadsheet and data base software, prefer experience with Microsoft Office. Requires knowledge of business letter writing and business forms; office procedures, business English, including vocabulary, correct grammatical usage and punctuation, filing systems; and common office machines and their operation.

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Previous work experience with operating equipment
• Valid US Driver’s License

• Ability to do basic arithmetic.

• Ability to identify problems and derive possible solutions.

• Frequent bending, climbing, kneeling, squatting, twisting/turning from waist and pushing/pulling objects.
• Will be working with hands and fingers, lifting and moving objects up to 40 pounds horizontally and vertically on a regular basis.
• Near and far vision as well as good depth perception and color vision are important. Frequent use of senses.
• Ability to stand or sit for long periods of time.
• Able to work in fluctuating temperatures.
