What You’ll Do
- Lead Enterprise Compliance Strategy
- Oversee and continuously improve AECI’s NERC compliance program
- Establish governance, standard processes, and accountability across business units
- Drive program maturity through metrics, assessments, and process enhancements
- Manage Regulatory Risk
- Identify and assess compliance risks using data, audits, and internal reviews
- Translate complex regulatory requirements into clear, actionable guidance
- Develop controls and procedures that ensure consistent execution
- Oversee Audits & Reporting
- Lead regulatory audits, self-certifications, and audit readiness efforts
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure accurate, timely filings
- Manage mitigation plans and corrective actions
- Integrate Compliance Across the Business
- Partner with operations, planning, and member systems to embed compliance into workflows
- Provide training, tools, and ongoing support to ensure consistent understanding
- Represent AECI & Lead a Team
- Engage with industry and regulatory groups (e.g., NERC, SERC) Stay ahead of emerging requirements and industry trends
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of compliance professionals
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 7+ years in the electric utility industry
- 3+ years of people leadership experience
- Strong experience with NERC reliability standards and compliance programs
- Background in compliance, audit, or risk management in a regulated environment
- Working knowledge of generation, transmission, and grid operations
- Ability to interpret complex regulations and apply them in a practical business context
