The Sanitation Operator will perform and oversee a variety of facility and equipment sanitation tasks. The role requires independent initiative, knowledge of good manufacturing practices, and experience working with cleaning chemicals. The operator will work in one of the four production departments, following the daily Master Sanitation Schedule, and will maintain safety, quality, and production KPIs.
Essential Functions- Follow FDA health and OSHA safety regulations.
- Maintain good attendance to ensure high performance.
- Execute a food processing sanitation program.
- Apply safety measures necessary for equipment operation and cleaning.
- Request external support for issues that arise.
- Follow verbal instructions and manuals for cleaning procedures.
- Inspect and maintain overall cleanliness of the building.
- Manage scheduled work list to complete all cleaning projects on time.
- Plan, track, and monitor all master sanitation activities on a scheduled basis.
- Maintain records of cleaning for all food contact equipment.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
- Manage cleaning tools and chemicals in the facility; ensure they are kept and returned to the right place.
- Ensure adequate quantities of cleaning supplies.
- Apply the Food Safety Management Plan and ensure all quality measures are met.
- Apply the Contents of Dot’s Safety Program and eliminate hazards.
- Complete all training as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Knowledge of food safety and security guidelines, including GMP and HACCP.
- Knowledge of cleaning solutions.
- Thorough knowledge of cleaning and sanitation methods and equipment used.
- Computer literate.
- Maintain various records.
- Diagnose problems, plan and organize corrective action.
- Exercise independent initiative.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, supervisors, and company employees.
- Understand and follow MSDS sheets and chemical labels.
- High sense of urgency.
- Comprehend oral and written instructions in English.
- Productive job performance and attendance records.
- Work in a fast‑paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
- Lift 40 pounds repetitively.
- Perform required physical movements: bend, twist, stand on feet for entire shift.
- Exposure to food production and warehouse environment; tolerance to noise and fluctuating temperatures.
35 to 40 hours a week.
LanguagesProficient in English and Spanish preferred.
