ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, modify, fabricate and repair mill equipment such as SAG mill, ball mills, conveyors, pumps, and piping systems.
• Perform occasional welding and light fabrication.
• Generate work orders; check on the status of orders, and pick up parts and supplies from warehouse. Operate heavy equipment associated with mill operations and maintenance.
• Must be willing to comply with all company policies and procedures, especially with regard to Safety, Human Resources, and Environmental.
• Must follow and understand MSHA rules and regulations, environmental rules and regulations, SOP and work area instructions, and participate in safety and environmental activities.
• Participate in Risk Assessment activities as required.

• High school diploma or equivalent required. Employees must have sufficient education to read and write instructions, perform simple mathematical calculations, and keep records.
• Minimum one year experience in maintaining and repairing milling equipment, pumps, conveyors, and heavy construction equipment.

• Strong oral and written communication and problem solving skills.
• Ability to work with others in a team environment.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers.

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

• Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
• Employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; talk or hear; and taste or smell.
• Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

• Frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; and vibration.
• Noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
• May be required to work nights, weekends, and rotating shifts.
