We are currently seeking a skilled and dependable Rolling Stock Mechanic to maintain and repair our fleet of mobile equipment.   • Position Type: Full Time
  • Salary: $39.00 - $44.00 per hour
  • Shift: Day (Full time, day shift)
  • Overtime: Eligible at time and a half

Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on all rolling stock equipment.
  • Complete scheduled preventative maintenance on time and document follow‑up repairs needed.
  • Work overtime and occasionally weekends to complete PMs and repairs on time.
  • Follow tasks/projects through completion, including documentation, spare parts ordering, and closing work orders.
  • Work with operators and management to coordinate scheduled maintenance and ensure production is not hindered.
  • Steam clean/wash rolling stock equipment at scheduled intervals.
  • Ensure equipment is safe and ready to use; tag out equipment when it is not safe.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace and tools.
  • Coordinate with vendors for parts quotes and emergency service calls as needed.
  • Comply with all company work and safety rules and related industry regulations.
  • Proactively improve and maintain equipment, and help where needed.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of 5 years industrial equipment experience.
  • In‑depth knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems in forklifts and rolling stock.
  • Clear written and oral communication skills across departments.
  • Ability to operate all facility rolling stock equipment for troubleshooting, testing, and training.
  • Willingness to learn new skills for updated machinery.
  • Basic machinist capabilities: drilling, tapping.
  • Fabrication and welding skills: oxy‑acetylene torch, plasma torch, SMAW, GMAW.
  • Ability to read and interpret prints, drawings, troubleshooting manuals, and electrical schematics.
  • Basic computer skills: email, internet research, CMMS work orders.
  • Understanding of 12V and 24V DC electrical systems.
