Shift: Graveyard (Wednesday – Saturday, 8:00 p.m. – 6:30 a.m.)
Salary: $28.00 – $30.00 per hour, plus $2.00 shift differential

• Time and a half overtime eligibility

• Use knowledge of steam, instrumentation, and controls to operate high‑pressure wood‑fired boilers efficiently and safely
• Load and change kiln charges and operate controls
• Understand environmental compliance related to operating and repairing boilers
• Perform minor repairs and maintenance on boilers and related equipment
• Communicate proactively with all departments to understand implications of boiler operations; build and maintain working relationships to achieve department and plant goals
• Identify and suggest new approaches or best‑known methods to foster continuous improvement
• Maintain adequate moisture content throughout each charge to maximize quality; check daily with Planer personnel to ensure consistency
• Perform shoveling and clearing of boiler ash and debris
• Fill in for other positions (where qualified) when needed

• Understanding of environmental compliance related to boiler and kiln operation
• Experience operating rolling stock: D-6 Cat, 950 Cat Loader, all sizes of forklift, Bobcat
• Mechanically inclined with an interest to further develop technical skills
• Flexible in schedule; ability to work variable days, weekends, and off‑shifts, including overtime
• Comfortable working outdoors year‑round in loud conditions with airborne particles (sawdust) and moving mechanical equipment
• Intermediate computer skills; ability to learn a variety of software applications
• Ability to understand and analyze operational data to improve operation
• Candidate must have been employed by Stimson for 6 continuous months prior to applying
