Shift: Graveyard (Wednesday – Saturday, 8:00 p.m. – 6:30 a.m.)
Salary: $28.00 – $30.00 per hour, plus $2.00 shift differential
- Time and a half overtime eligibility

- Use knowledge of steam, instrumentation, and controls to operate high‑pressure wood‑fired boilers efficiently and safely
- Load and change kiln charges and operate controls
- Understand environmental compliance related to operating and repairing boilers
- Perform minor repairs and maintenance on boilers and related equipment
- Communicate proactively with all departments to understand implications of boiler operations; build and maintain working relationships to achieve department and plant goals
- Identify and suggest new approaches or best‑known methods to foster continuous improvement
- Maintain adequate moisture content throughout each charge to maximize quality; check daily with Planer personnel to ensure consistency
- Perform shoveling and clearing of boiler ash and debris
- Fill in for other positions (where qualified) when needed
- Understanding of environmental compliance related to boiler and kiln operation
- Experience operating rolling stock: D-6 Cat, 950 Cat Loader, all sizes of forklift, Bobcat
- Mechanically inclined with an interest to further develop technical skills
- Flexible in schedule; ability to work variable days, weekends, and off‑shifts, including overtime
- Comfortable working outdoors year‑round in loud conditions with airborne particles (sawdust) and moving mechanical equipment
- Intermediate computer skills; ability to learn a variety of software applications
- Ability to understand and analyze operational data to improve operation
- Candidate must have been employed by Stimson for 6 continuous months prior to applying
