Sole Pastor: Grangeville Christian Reformed Church

Job Description

• The primary tasks of the pastor will be:
  • Preach the Word of God faithfully at least once per week on Sunday morning.
  • Administer the sacraments.
  • Provide a mid‑week study/prayer meeting.
  • Shepherd the congregation according to scripture and CRC Church Order.
  • Lead worship services on other special days of the church calendar.
• In collaboration with the Council, other tasks include:
  • Encourage and model discipleship and mentoring among the congregation.
  • Minister to the needs of the congregation including visitation, and providing counsel and care for members as needs arise.
  • Attend all regular classis meetings.
  • Conduct premarital counseling, perform weddings, and officiate funerals.
  • Monitor the needs of discipline.
  • Monitor membership status and provide membership classes as needed.
  • Represent the church within the community at large.
  • Assist in the development of an annual budget and ensure the financial affairs of the church are conducted in an orderly and responsible fashion.
  • Ensure church facilities and grounds are maintained.

Grangeville CRC is seeking male candidates that are ordained, or qualified to be ordained, in a Reformed denomination; committed to the Reformed faith as set forth in the traditional creeds and confessions; committed to Christ-centered expository preaching; and able to interact graciously and knowledgeably with those from a diversity of church backgrounds.
