About Our Church

First Baptist Church of Cambridge is a Christ-centered, Bible-believing congregation committed to glorifying God through worship, discipleship, fellowship, ministry, and evangelism.

We are seeking a pastor who will faithfully preach God's Word, shepherd the congregation, and lead our church in fulfilling the Great Commission.

The Pastor will serve as the spiritual leader of the church, providing biblical teaching, pastoral care, leadership, and vision. The pastor will work alongside church staff, deacons, and ministry leaders to equip believers for service and encourage spiritual growth within the congregation.

• Preach and teach the Word of God in a clear, biblically sound, and engaging manner.
• Lead weekly worship services alongside deacons, and worship team.
• Provide pastoral care, including visitation, counseling, weddings, funerals, and prayer support.
• Equip and disciple church members for spiritual growth.
• Lead evangelism and outreach efforts within the community.
• Work collaboratively and peacefully with the church council to develop and implement ministry goals and vision.
• Demonstrate humility, wisdom, and servant leadership within the church congregation and church leadership.
• Promote unity, fellowship, and spiritual maturity within the congregation, and church council.
• Faithfully and humbly carry out church discipline whenever necessary.
• Maintain a strong personal relationship with Jesus Christ through prayer, Bible study, and Christian witness.

• A clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and a life that reflects maturity of faith, and strong biblical character.
• Agreement with the church's statement of faith, church constitution and bylaws.
• Ordained minister or willing to become ordained by our congregation.
• Demonstrated experience in pastoral ministry, preaching, and church leadership.
• Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Formal theological education preferred (seminary degree or previous pastoral experience)
• A heart for discipleship, rural ministry, and community engagement.

• Salary based on experience and qualifications.
• Parsonage housing and utility allowance.
