Staff Nurse – Medical Ward
Location: The Princess Grace Hospital, London
Hours: Full time – 37.5 hours per week
Shift Pattern: Monday – Sunday (flexibility to work long days, nights and weekends – 8:00am–8:30pm and 8:00pm–8:30am)
Contract Type: Permanent
Salary: Competitive plus 9% shift allowance
We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Staff Nurse to join our dynamic and diverse team on the Medical Ward at The Princess Grace Hospital. This is an excellent opportunity for a registered nurse looking to develop a career in Acute Medicine. You will thrive on variety, clinical challenge, working in a fast‑paced environment and delivering exceptional patient care across both acute and procedural settings.
As a Staff Nurse, you will play a key role in delivering safe, effective and patient‑centred care within a dynamic acute medical environment, working closely with the multidisciplinary team. You will have the opportunity to work alongside our dedicated team of Medical Consultants across a wide range of medical specialties, gaining valuable experience and developing your clinical skills.
Our Acute Medicine pathway provides a 24/7 service, offering immediate access to care through our Acute Admission Unit and Urgent Care Centre. You will support the management of acutely unwell patients, contribute to the delivery of our First‑Hour pathway for Acute Medical admissions, and help ensure patients receive the highest standard of care throughout their journey.
Position is based within our 19‑bedded Acute Medical Ward, caring for a diverse cohort of patients with acute medical conditions and complex care needs. The ward also supports a post‑operative pathway for breast surgery patients alongside a range of day‑case procedures, including iron infusions and interventional radiology procedures (e.g. biopsies).
Essential- Registered Nurse (NMC) with up‑to‑date registration and revalidation requirements
- Previous experience in an acute hospital setting (medical ward, surgical ward, AAU or A&E)
- Strong clinical assessment and patient care skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Commitment to delivering high‑quality, patient‑centred care
- Enthusiastic and motivated with a willingness to learn and develop within Acute Medicine
- Experience with in private healthcare
- Evidence of continued professional development
- Teaching or mentorship experience
- Basic Life Support
