Good leadership, management, interpersonal and communication skills. They excel at recourse management. Additional skills include attention to detail, organization and analytical skills, the ability to quickly and accurately assess patient’s condition, and the ability to handle emergencies in a calm manner. Must have a working knowledge of Teton Valley Health Care policies and procedures. The individual will be responsible for leading and, assisting nursing staff as well as providing administrative support.

Required Qualifications

Current State of Idaho Registered Nurse License
Current BCLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC certifications
Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
Basic knowledge of computer use; including email and electronic documentation.
Intermediate math skills including algebra equivalent logic and reasoning required for dosage calculations.
Ability to use standard patient care equipment including handling flammable gases.
Knowledge of use on available nursing resources such as approved textbooks and online sites for patient care
Ability to maintain and follow guidelines set standards of practice in quality patient care and state, federal, and facility required infection control practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills matching our patient’s needs and TVHC’s mission and values.

Preferred Qualifications

One year of hospital nursing experience minimum
A minimum of 2 years of hospital nursing in a Critical Access Hospital
Previous House Supervisor experience preferred.

Summary

Job Description

As the House Supervisor they will supervise and support the nursing staff, while also treating patients. This nurse is responsible for smooth and efficient patient flow, delegating assignments and collaborating with medical providers to provide quality, organized care. The individual will be working directly with the Chief Nursing Officer, Director of Emergency and Trauma Services, Director of Patient Care Services, Director of Quality and Director of Infection Prevention and Employee Health to reach departmental goals

Directs, supervises, and provides professional nursing care in all areas of the hospital.

Serve as a resource to teammates by triaging patients, making patient assignments, taking on overflow patients, and activating time-sensitive emergencies.

Help manage the patient from hospital to home by working collaboratively with the Case Manager.

Perform necessary clerical duties, including but not limited to chart checks for documentation purposes, provider order completion and medication administration, correct patient registration, transfer and discharge.

Assist in other areas of the hospital or clinic when necessary.

Conduct periodic peer education sessions in monthly staff meetings and while on shift.

Assist with quality improvement and data tracking.

Work directly with Chief Nursing Officer on Charge Nurse role delineation.

Overall responsibility of shift staffing, scheduling may be assigned.

Act as a resource in identifying and/or solving administration issues and report to the CNO or Administrator on call, significant incidents and problems.
