Sun Valley Resort is seeking an experienced and safety-focused Terrain Park Supervisor to support the daily operations of the Resort's terrain parks. Working closely with the Terrain Park Manager, this position helps oversee terrain park construction, maintenance, safety, staff development, and daily operations. The Terrain Park Supervisor plays a key role in ensuring terrain parks are maintained to the highest standards while providing a safe, high-quality experience for guests and employees.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Support the daily operation, maintenance, and presentation of all terrain parks.
- Assist with the design, construction, rebuilding, and maintenance of terrain park features.
- Support the opening and closing of terrain parks, ensuring all features meet established safety and operational standards.
- Ensure fencing, signage, ropes, closures, and trail markings are properly installed and maintained.
- Complete and maintain accurate daily terrain park inspections, operational logs, and documentation.
- Communicate feature conditions, maintenance needs, and operational updates with the Terrain Park Manager, Grooming, and Terrain Park staff.
- Collaborate with Grooming, Ski Patrol, Snow making, and Mountain Operations teams to support safe and efficient mountain operations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of three years of terrain park operations, terrain park maintenance, or related mountain operations experience preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of terrain park construction, feature maintenance, and industry safety standards.
- Strong leadership, communication, and team collaboration skills.
- Valid U.S. driver's license required.
- Advanced skiing or snowboarding ability, with the capability to safely inspect and test terrain park features from small to medium-sized features; experience with large features is preferred.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively using two-way radios and with multiple operational departments.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including snow, wind, cold temperatures, and low visibility and on varied mountain terrain for extended periods.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and varying shifts throughout the winter season.
- Engage in physical activities like standing for long periods, walking, skiing or snowboarding, and utilizing hands for tasks that involve gripping, handling, shoveling, lifting, and reaching.
- Ability to safely lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
