Sun Valley Resort is seeking enthusiastic and safety-focused Terrain Park Attendants to help create a safe, enjoyable, and world-class terrain park experience for our guests. This position is responsible for maintaining terrain park features, monitoring guest safety, educating guests on responsible park use, and ensuring parks are presented to the highest standards each day. Terrain Park Attendants work closely with Grooming, Ski Patrol, and Mountain Operations teams to maintain safe, contest-ready terrain parks throughout the season.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Deliver exceptional guest service while promoting a safe and enjoyable terrain park experience.
- Serve as a visible presence within the terrain parks by assisting guests, promoting safety awareness, and helping manage guest flow.
- Educate guests on the Responsibility Code and terrain park safety guidelines.
- Inspect, test, and monitor terrain park features to ensure they meet operational and safety standards.
- Install, maintain, and remove terrain park signage, fencing, ropes, closures, trail markings, banners, and flags.
- Rake, shovel, shape, and maintain terrain park features to ensure quality conditions throughout the day.
- Complete daily terrain park inspections, feature testing, operational logs, and required documentation.
- Assist with terrain park events, competitions, and special projects as assigned.
- Remove trash and debris and maintain a clean, organized park environment.
- Collaborate with Grooming, Ski Patrol, and Mountain Operations teams to support safe and efficient daily operations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Advanced skiing or snowboarding ability, with the capability to safely inspect and test terrain park features from small to medium-sized features; experience with large features is preferred.
- Passion for skiing, snowboarding, and terrain park culture.
- Strong communication and guest service skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable attendance, punctuality, and a strong commitment to safety.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying winter weather conditions.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and varying shifts throughout the winter season.
- Engage in physical activities like standing for long periods, walking, skiing or snowboarding, and utilizing hands for tasks that involve gripping, handling, shoveling, and reaching.
- Ability to safely lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
- Ability to work outdoors in all winter weather conditions, including snow, wind, cold temperatures, and varying terrain.
- Ability to ski or snowboard safely while carrying tools and equipment and traveling across varied mountain terrain.
