Position Purpose
The Account Executive is a key driver of client engagement and business growth. This role is responsible for cultivating strong, long‑term relationships with existing clients by delivering exceptional service and strategic solutions that meet their evolving needs. In addition to maintaining and enhancing current accounts, the Account Executive actively identifies and pursues new business opportunities to expand the company’s client base and market presence.
Key Responsibilities- Build and sustain long‑term client relationships by understanding their goals and delivering tailored solutions.
- Expand sales within existing accounts through strategic cross‑selling and upselling.
- Report progress and forecasts regularly to internal teams and clients, ensuring transparency and alignment.
- Negotiate and close profitable contracts that support long‑term growth.
- Execute a sales strategy aligned with business objectives and market opportunities.
- Leverage digital platforms and other SRS tools to support customers.
Direct Manager and Reports:
Reports directly to the Branch Manager at SRS Building Products. This position currently has no direct reports. The role requires effective collaboration within a matrix structure to drive sales performance and support strategic company objectives.
Travel Requirements:
Requires 20–30% travel to client sites, sales meetings, and industry conferences.
Physical Requirements:
This role is primarily field‑based, involving extended periods of sitting and use of standard equipment like computers and phones. Occasional standing, walking, and lifting of items up to 25 lbs may be required. Reasonable accommodations can be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position.
Working Conditions:
Normal business hours from Monday to Friday, with occasional overtime during peak sales periods. The workplace model embraces a hybrid arrangement, combining the benefits of both office‑based work and remote flexibility.
- Proven experience as an Account Executive, or similar sales/customer service role.
- Knowledge of market research, sales, and negotiating principles.
- At least 5 years of proven success in sales within the building products or related industry.
- Consistent history of meeting or surpassing sales targets and contributing to revenue growth.
- Superior interpersonal and communication capabilities for effective relationship building and influence across organizational levels.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and negotiation abilities.
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Adaptability to fast‑paced and dynamic environments with an emphasis on results‑driven performance.
- Readiness to travel as necessary for client meetings and industry events.
- Proven experience in B2B sales with a focus on building and maintaining strong client partnerships.
- Extensive knowledge of the building products market, including key industry trends and competitive dynamics.
- Experience utilizing data‑driven insights to inform strategic decision‑making and identify growth opportunities.
- Advanced proficiency in leveraging digital tools and platforms to enhance customer engagement and sales processes.
- Strong organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to manage complex sales cycles and large accounts.
- Track record of successfully leading and collaborating with cross‑functional teams to achieve business objectives.
- Experience in developing and executing marketing strategies that align with sales goals and enhance brand presence.
- Ability to effectively communicate complex technical information in a manner that is easily understood by diverse stakeholders.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development, with evidence of continued learning in sales methodologies and industry advancements.
- Enthusiasm for mentoring and developing junior team members to foster a high‑performance sales culture.
A Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field is required. An MBA is preferred.
Preferred EducationMaster's degree in Business Administration or other related field.
