Sun Valley Resort is seeking an experienced and safety-focused Dollar Mountain Ski Patrol Supervisor to lead daily Ski Patrol operations at Dollar Mountain. This position is responsible for supervising, training, and developing Ski Patrollers while ensuring exceptional guest safety, emergency medical response, mountain maintenance, and risk management. The ideal candidate is a collaborative leader with strong medical, rescue, and mountain operations experience who is committed to fostering a positive team environment and delivering an outstanding guest experience.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Supervise and support the daily operations of the Dollar Mountain Ski Patrol team.
• Prepare daily work assignments and ensure appropriate staffing and mountain coverage.
• Serve as a liaison between Ski Patrol leadership and patrol team members, promoting effective communication and collaboration.
• Recruit, train, mentor, coach, and evaluate Ski Patrollers, supporting professional development and departmental performance.
• Conduct regular team meetings and training sessions to reinforce safety standards, operational procedures, and guest service expectations.
• Patrol the mountain to monitor guest safety, identify hazards, respond to emergencies, and provide emergency medical care as needed.
• Coordinate mountain opening and closing procedures, including boundary management, hazard marking, and trail safety.
• Assist with avalanche mitigation activities, including monitoring snow conditions, collecting field observations, and performing avalanche control in accordance with Resort procedures and applicable regulations.
• Safely operate snowmobiles, toboggans, and other patrol equipment to support mountain operations and emergency response.
• Participate in lift evacuations, search and rescue operations, helicopter evacuations, and other mountain emergency responses as required.
• Maintain accurate incident reports, operational documentation, and daily patrol records.
• Collaborate with other Mountain Operations departments to promote safe, efficient Resort operations.
• Foster a positive safety culture while leading by example and maintaining the highest standards of professionalism.

Qualifications:

• Current Outdoor Emergency Care (OEC), EMT, or higher medical certification required.
• Current CPR certification required.
• Previous leadership, supervisory, or lead Ski Patrol experience.
• Experience with avalanche mitigation and the safe use of Class A explosives in accordance with applicable regulations.
• Must be 21 years or older.
• Current U.S. Driver's License required.
• Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and time management abilities.
• Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in high-pressure emergency situations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn Resort software systems.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and promoting a positive team culture.
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, early mornings, evenings, and extended shifts as operational needs require.
• Engage in physical activities like standing for long periods, walking, skiing, climbing, and utilizing hands for tasks that involve gripping, handling, and reaching.
• Ability to safely lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
