Job Description
Americas Gold & Silver is seeking experienced Underground Hard Rock Narrow Vein Miners to support production and development activities at the Galena Complex in Wallace, Idaho. This role is critical to safe, efficient, and productive extraction in a challenging narrow vein underground environment.
Underground Miners will be responsible for drilling, blasting, ground support, mucking, and other production and development tasks while maintaining strict adherence to safety standards and operational procedures. Opportunities exist in both conventional and mechanized mining methods, providing a diverse and challenging work environment. Candidates with narrow vein underground experience are strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities- Perform underground mining duties including drilling, blasting, mucking, scaling, and installing ground support.
- Safely operate underground equipment such as jumbos, jacklegs, LHDs, and service equipment (based on skill set).
- Conduct pre-operational equipment inspections and report mechanical or safety issues.
- Install and maintain ground support systems including rock bolts, mesh, and shotcrete as required.
- Follow mine plans, layouts, and production schedules to support development and stoping activities.
- Work safely and productively in narrow vein conditions.
- Comply with MSHA regulations and all company safety policies and procedures.
- Participate in safety meetings, training, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area underground at all times.
- Required:
Minimum 3 years of underground hard rock mining experience. - Preferred:
Experience in narrow vein mining methods. - Preferred:
Experience with drilling and blasting, ground support installation, and underground equipment operation.
- Ability to safely work in confined underground environments with varying ground conditions.
- Proficiency in underground mining tools and equipment relevant to position level.
- Ability to read and follow mine plans, layouts, and safety documentation.
- Strong understanding of underground hazards and risk controls.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor for extended shifts underground.
- Compensation bonus structure based on footage and production.

- The current work schedule operates on a rotational basis, with employees working approximately six months out of the year.
