The Thompson Creek Mine is a primary, surface molybdenum mine and mill located approximately 48 kilometers southwest of the town of Challis in Idaho's Custer County.

In operations since 1983, the mine uses conventional open‑pit mining methods with large electric‑powered shovels that can each move up to 100,000 tons of waste rock and ore per day.

Thompson Creek Mine promotes a drug and alcohol‑free workplace and has adopted a zero‑tolerance policy with respect to alcohol or unauthorized drugs on site.

We are looking for a Technician, Mill Maintenance to join our Thompson Creek team. In this role you will ensure the effective operation of the mill, tailings, outlying area pumps, and crushing equipment through preventive maintenance and troubleshooting as needed.

• Maintain and repair mill equipment as requested by Maintenance Supervision, ranging from simple tasks to complex repairs.
• Use computer programs to check reported trouble and order parts.
• Maximize equipment availability through efficient proactive preventive maintenance programs.
• Perform preventive maintenance such as inspections, lubricating, oil changes, and failure analysis.
• Diagnose faults and malfunctions and carry out necessary repairs including major component replacement or rebuild.
• Comply with all Safety, Health, Environmental and other policies, procedures, and requirements.
• Test repaired equipment for proper performance.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment; work with Mill Operations to keep the site functioning as a well‑oiled unit.
• Other duties as assigned.

To qualify, the following skills and experiences are required:

• Minimum high school diploma or GED.
• Millwright technology trade school certification preferred.
• 3+ years related experience preferred.
• Excellent safety record.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Valid driver’s license and access to personal transportation.
• Ability to identify, analyze and resolve problems.
• Ability to work safely and effectively both in a team and independently.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to work in adverse conditions.
