Mountain Vehicle Mechanic I & II
The Mountain Vehicle Mechanic is responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of resort and mountain operations equipment, including snowcats, snowmobiles, trucks, heavy equipment, and small engines. This role supports safe and efficient mountain operations through preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs while maintaining a clean, organized, and safety-focused shop environment.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on snowcats, snowmobiles, trucks, heavy equipment, and small engines
- Diagnose and repair diesel and gas engines, as well as hydraulic, electrical, and computerized vehicle systems
- Troubleshoot mechanical and operational issues to ensure equipment reliability and performance
- Safely move and operate equipment in and out of service areas and during on-mountain repairs or recoveries
- Complete work orders, maintenance records, and daily documentation accurately and in a timely manner
- Collaborate with team members to support efficient shop operations and equipment repairs
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and shop standards
- Support mountain operations teams as needed during seasonal operations
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Current U.S. Driver's License required
- Previous experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and computerized vehicle systems
- Experience working on heavy equipment, diesel engines, or similar machinery preferred
- Snowcat and snowmobile maintenance experience preferred
- Welding and fabrication experience preferred
- Ability to operate ATVs, snowmobiles, snowcats, trucks, and related equipment safely
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Must provide essential tools and toolbox appropriate for the position
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions as operational needs require
- Engage in physical activities like walking, and utilizing hands for tasks that involve gripping, handling, and reaching
- Can safely lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
