Overview
Drivers who want to see the country are a perfect fit for the Crete Carrier and Shaffer Trucking national OTR fleets. These are our highest mileage fleets and home to our top-earning drivers. We're also hiring Idaho drivers for jobs on our Western Regional fleet.

Crete Carrier and Shaffer Trucking pay based on practical miles, meaning drivers are paid for 3-5 percent more total miles per year than companies that pay based on short route miles. Recent improvements include raising governed truck speed to 68 MPH on the cruise and 65 MPH on the pedal. The most productive 50 percent of our OTR drivers average more than $101,176 annually, with approximately $1,945 weekly and CPM in the $0.66–$0.69 range.
The top 50% of Hunt Transportation drivers average $93,347 annually. We also offer comprehensive health insurance, a matching 401(k) and a profit-sharing plan that contributed $11.5 million in 2025 and more than $103 million to employee retirement accounts since 2018.
