Fire Door Installer

Starting £18 p/h Access to Company Van  Fuel Card | Training | Career Progression We are looking for people who know fire doors, take pride in their work and can work to a high standard without being constantly supervised. This is a hands-on role carrying out fire door installation and remedial works across a range of commercial, residential, healthcare and public sector properties.

There is currently a significant amount of work in London and the South, so applicants must be comfortable travelling and working away from home on occasion.

The Role Your main responsibility will be the installation and remediation of fire doors and associated components, ensuring work is completed correctly and in accordance with current standards and manufacturer requirements. Typical work will include:
Installation of complete fire door sets Replacement and installation of fire doors, frames and associated components Fire door remedial works Installation of hinges, closers, intumescent products, seals, latches and other ironmongery Adjusting and upgrading existing fire doors Identifying defects and carrying out appropriate remedial works Fire door inspections and surveys where required Completing job sheets, photographs and site records Working alongside site managers, clients and other trades Maintaining a high standard of workmanship and site safety There may also be opportunities to undertake passive fire protection and fire-stopping works, depending on your experience.

What We're Looking For Fire door installation experience is essential. We're looking for experienced installers who understand what a compliant fire door installation should look like and can work to a high standard. You should have:
Proven experience installing and/or remediating fire doors Good knowledge of fire door components and installation requirements Understanding of relevant UK fire door standards, including BS 8214 Ability to read and follow installation instructions and manufacturer requirements Good attention to detail and pride in your workmanship Ability to work independently and as part of a team Good communication skills Full UK driving licence with less than 6 points Willingness to travel and work away from home when required Qualifications The following are highly desirable: FIRAS BM TRADA FDIS FIREQUAL IFC Relevant fire door installation / inspection qualifications However, proven practical fire door experience is essential.
