Plant Accountant

Silgan Containers is seeking a plant accountant to provide plant-level manufacturing accounting and finance expertise at our Hoopeston, Illinois, manufacturing facility. This role focuses on cost accounting, inventory control, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and SOX internal controls within a structured manufacturing environment.

The plant accountant reports to the plant manager and partners closely with plant operations and corporate finance to ensure accurate reporting, strong internal controls, and effective financials for manufacturing operations. Excellent salary based on experience, education, and skills.

What you'll do as a plant accountant includes assisting with inventory accuracy, managing monthly closing, plant financial statements, and standardized financial reporting, preparing budgeting, forecasting, and annual operating plan submissions, maintaining standard costs, cost accounting processes, and bills of materials, managing compliance with SOX internal controls, participating in production meetings, conducting regular plant walkthroughs, partnering with plant management on manufacturing finance and cost management, providing day-to-day oversight of the plant accounting clerk and plant planner, and collaborating with corporate finance on reporting accuracy and control compliance.
