Position OverviewThe Illinois Department of Corrections is seeking a detailed and energetic Visitor Coordinator. The ideal candidate will serve as the Visitor Coordinator to the Clinical Services Unit that is providing services for a growing population of individuals in custody. We encourage all qualified applicants to apply.
Essential Functions- Coordinates and completes tasks that allow individuals in custody to communicate with civilians.
- Receives inquiries, complaints, and questions relating to video visitation, telephone system, MP3 players and electronic messaging.
- Reviews visitor information forms (PVI) and routes them for approval.
- Prints daily video/in‑person visitation schedules and delivers them to staff.
- Serves as backup to clerical staff in Clinical Services.
- Serves as backup receptionist for Clinical services.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned within scope.
- Completion of high school and two years of office experience.
- Keyboarding skill of 45 words per minute.
- Experience creating and maintaining Excel spreadsheets or similar.
- Experience writing correspondence independently.
- Experience operating office equipment such as multi‑line phone systems, copiers, fax machines, scanners.
- Experience troubleshooting such equipment.
- Experience using Word and Outlook or similar for word processing and email.
