Pinckneyville Correctional Center is seeking a detailed Office Associate to perform a variety of clerical functions in the Records Office. The ideal candidate will keyboard complex reports, documents, forms and memorandums, and organize/maintain individuals in custody master files. In addition, they will respond to inquiries in person and by phone, as well as utilize automated office equipment to complete tasks.
Essential Functions- Performs a variety of keyboarding/text-editing duties.
- Performs complex, specialized clerical services for the Record Office.
- Composes and keyboards correspondence and documents pertaining to outside agencies including the sheriff's office, police, state attorneys and courts.
- Maintains accurate filing system.
- Maintains individual in custody master files.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of duties enumerated above.
- Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of high school and two years of office experience.
- Requires the ability to keyboard accurately at 45 words per minute.
- This position is considered light work as defined by the U.S. Department of Labor (20 CFR 404.1567(b)). Light work involves lifting no more than 20 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds. This job may require a good deal of walking or standing, or involves sitting most of the time with some pushing and pulling of arm or leg controls.
- Requires ability to pass the IDOC/IDJJ background check.
- Requires ability to pass a drug screen. The use of unauthorized drugs by an employee, regardless of position held, is prohibited.
- Required to utilize digital technology, tools, platforms, and processes in managing and supporting various digital enhancements for greater efficiency, productivity, and digital transformation efforts within the department.
