The Administrative Assistant for Students in Transition will provide administrative support to the Texas Education for Homeless Children and Youth (TEHCY) program. This position is dedicated to assisting students who are experiencing homelessness by ensuring access to educational services, resources, and opportunities that help them succeed during their transition. The role will involve coordination of outreach efforts, data management, and communication with school personnel, service providers, and families to improve educational outcomes for homeless children and youth.

Coordinator for Counseling and Support Services
Responsibilities- Assist in the management and organization of program‑related documentation, including McKinney Vento enrollment, eligibility criteria, and service referral
- Maintain up‑to‑date records for homeless students, tracking academic progress, attendance, and available support services
- Coordinate meetings, professional development, and outreach events related to student transition and support services
- Answer inquiries and provide information to staff, students, families, and community members regarding the TEHCY program and services
- Support the collection, entry, and maintenance of program data, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal and state reporting requirements
- Collaborate with school personnel to identify and support homeless students, including assisting with enrollment, transportation, and academic interventions
- Develop and nurture partnerships with local organizations, shelters, businesses, and service providers to create a network of support for homeless students and their families
- Support the planning and execution of parent engagement events and workshops, helping to connect families of homeless students with vital educational resources and community support services. Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment to encourage active participation and collaboration between parents, school staff, and community partners.
- Assist Coordinator for Counseling and Support Services with budget, travel, supply orders, and other basic needs for the Guidance Services department.
