Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Estimator to join our Collision team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the efficient and timely repair of vehicles through the Collision Center. The ideal candidate will be able to effectively communicate with customers and insurance companies for a smooth and transparent repair process. A strong background in collision repair is a must.
Responsibilities- Greet customers with a smile.
- Obtain customer and vehicle information.
- Report/document all vehicle symptoms and damage as described by the customer.
- Prepare a preliminary estimate with cost of labor/parts.
- Work with insurance and adjusters to get preliminary estimates approved.
- Explain repair plans, timelines, procedures, rentals, etc to customers and schedule jobs for repair.
- Order parts through CCC (Collision Link), Parts Trader, LKQ/Keystone website, calling dealer, etc.
- Assist technician with tear down of vehicle for writing initial supplement after job comes in for repair.
- Submit supplement to insurance with proper pictures and notes.
- Communicate with the shop manager timeline, workload, and vehicle progress, etc.
- Follow repair to make sure tech has all they need and update the customer with progress.
- Conduct follow-up inspections and verify repairs have been completed to ensure safety and quality standards have been met before returning to the customer.
- Maintain detailed records of estimate, repair order, supplement needs and insurance communication to finalize invoice/estimate.
- Collect any insurance check and customer deductible, if applicable.
- Walk out with the customer to look at their repaired vehicle and thank them for their business.
- Assist with quarterly inventory.
- Other assigned tasks as needed.
- Proven experience in automotive collision or a related field.
- Strong attention to detail with ability to perform under pressure.
- Excellent teamwork skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot effectively.
- A commitment to safety practices in the workplace.
- Ability to work flexible hours as needed to meet project deadlines.
