Caterpillar’s Power & Energy Procurement organization plays a key role in supporting all divisions within Power & Energy. Job Summary

As the Facility Procurement Manager, you will lead and govern Power and Energy’s global supplier capacity planning, including monthly S&OP demand planning, supplier risk identification, and implementation of mitigation plans in collaboration with component product and purchasing organizations.

What You Will Do
  • Manage a global team responsible for operating and monitoring the supply network procurement functions to meet defined response time, cost, quality, and lean targets, enabling optimal and efficient facility operations.
  • Ensure the supplier network meets the specific facilities’ Quality, Cost, Logistics, Development, Management (QCLDM) requirements.
  • Collaborate with business partners and suppliers, resolving facility‑specific supplier issues.
Qualifications & Experience Process Management

Knowledge of business process improvement tools and techniques; ability to understand, monitor, update, control, or enhance existing business or work processes.

Level: Extensive Experience

  • Help others learn the tools and techniques for process value analysis.
  • Carry out process evaluation, diagnosis, and optimization.
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of a major process flow, its components, and issues.
  • Synchronize efforts and resource requirements for several teams within a process.
  • Makes the business case for new processes, including cost‑benefit ratios.
  • Possesses knowledge of tools and techniques for designing and implementing new processes.
Relationship Management

Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers.

Level: Extensive Experience

  • Communicates with clients regarding expectations of all parties.
  • Participates in negotiating terms of the business relationship.
  • Conducts periodic reviews of work effort, progress, issues, and successes.
  • Maintains productive, long‑term relationships with clients or vendors.
  • Creates opportunities to educate support teams on client priorities.
  • Empowers others to establish collaborative, healthy relationships.
Supplier Management – MFG

Knowledge of processes and methods to effectively manage business relationships and transactions with suppliers of raw materials or product components; ability to apply related knowledge, experience, and skills into real practice.

Level: Extensive Experience

  • Facilitate supplier partnering arrangements that share risk and reward.
  • Monitor supplier performance; resolve discrepancies between performance and agreements.
  • Develop quality standards and controls for suppliers.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with multiple and/or large suppliers.
  • Evaluate issues and terminate supplier relationships as appropriate; work with legal departments.
  • Ensure the fulfillment of report and record‑keeping requirements.
Purchasing Tasks and Activities

Knowledge of policies, regulations, and processes of purchasing; ability to use practices and procedures for procurement of materials, components, equipment, and services.
