Premier Cooperative is looking for a Grain Superintendent to lead daily operations at our Farmer City, IL grain facility. What You ll DoAs the Grain Superintendent, you ll oversee the day-to-day outside operations of the facility while ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality grain handling. You ll be responsible for:
- Leading and mentoring the grain operations team while promoting a strong safety culture
- Managing grain receiving, storage, drying, conditioning, and shipping operations
- Maintaining grain quality through proper segregation, aeration, temperature monitoring, and moisture management
- Coordinating truck and rail loading while maximizing facility efficiency
- Overseeing preventative maintenance and equipment reliability
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and compliant facility
- Recommending operational improvements, staffing needs, and facility enhancements
- Delivering outstanding customer service to our farmer-owners and business partners
We re seeking someone who enjoys taking ownership of operations and leading by example.
Preferred qualifications include:
- 3+ years of grain handling or grain elevator experience
- Proven leadership and team development skills
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Mechanical aptitude and equipment troubleshooting skills
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Willingness to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays during harvest and peak seasons
- Ability to climb, work at heights, lift 50+ pounds, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions
