Job Description
The International Market Access & Pricing (IMAP) Team leads the market access strategies and planning for pipeline as well as on market products.
This role will leverage your clinical understanding, evidence based medicine expertise, and deep global payer knowledge to shape Phase II/III clinical development programs for pre‑launch compounds.
IMAP director, PD and Psychosis reports to the VP IMAP, Neuroscience and is accountable for the following:
- Develop the Global Integrated Access Strategy (IAS) for the Parkinson’s Disease (including Prod Topa, Duodopa and Tavapadon) and Psychosis (primarily Emraclidine) portfolio focused on Pricing, Reimbursement and Access (PRA) consistent with the commercial strategy.
- Lead the VAT on creation/maintenance of core payer materials, support of HTA submissions, and optimization of payer evidence generation.
- Identify and manage competitive opportunities and threats from a market access perspective for the Psychiatry and Parkinson’s portfolio.
- Lead the development of Global IASs for assets within the pipeline, notably within disease areas such as depression, bipolar, and schizophrenia.
- Develop and maintain the Payer Value Story (consistent with the Brand Story) for all assets and indications in the assigned portfolio.
- Lead a team of direct reports to develop compelling core payer materials based on deep payer insights.
- Assess and challenge key market access assumptions as part of the Financial Planning Process (LRP/Plan).
- Collaboratively work with Area and Affiliates to customize approaches.
- Support the global effort to integrate payer value messages for the assigned portfolio (Parkinson’s and Psychosis) into our clinical and evidence‑based assessments and develop key market access deliverables in line with Abbvie’s PIVOTAL PRA Excellence framework and the asset playbook.
- Ensure Global, Area, and Affiliate implementation of the Abbvie launch readiness to achieve PRA, focusing on all International markets (EU5, CA, , RU, CH, JP).
- Provide input into clinical development programs to ensure endpoints (clinical, economic, and humanistic outcomes) are incorporated to optimize price, reimbursement and patient access globally.
- Proactively ensure reimbursement considerations are incorporated into global market access strategy as well as multi‑functional therapeutic and product assessments throughout key clinical development milestones and strategic commercial decisions.
- Generate initial global payer value propositions for new products aligned with the product’s total emerging value proposition and target product profile.
- Collaborate with GHEOR, Clinical Evidence & Outcomes team, policy, International Marketing & Commercial Operations, Pipeline Commercial Strategy, Area market access, and other functions to ensure solid understanding of global payer markets and emerging stakeholders in the reimbursement area.
- Maintain therapeutic area specific department budgetary activities.
- 10‑15 years of experience in Pricing and Market Access, ideally at a global, area or 5
LBU country level. - B.A. or B.S. required.
- Strong clinical and disease area knowledge.
- Experience in developing and managing market access strategies globally.
- Experience in payer trends and evaluating drivers of market access success.
- Knowledge of pricing policy, regulations and healthcare in key markets.
- Understanding of regulatory agency requirements that govern market approval and the impact on reimbursement decisions.
- Working knowledge of health economic modeling.
- Education:
degree in a scientific or economic area preferred; MBA preferred.
