M,T,TH,F 2:15 – 6PM, W 1:45 – 6PM

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the supervisor of the Site Supervisor, the staff support / one-on-one is responsible for the supervised inclusion, of said child, into the Program, creating, organizing and displaying personal leadership in a wide variety of recreational activities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Takes directions from the Site Supervisor, Site Coordinator, and Assistant Site Coordinator
Attends all staff and program meetings
Arrives on time and is prepared for the days activities
Reports absences in a timely manner
Shows interest in the days activities and encourages the same for said child
Is sensitive to the individual needs of said child
Will encourage positive behavior through positive reinforcement strategies and assisting with impulse control, this will be accomplished by the staff member being in close proximity and attentive of said child at all times

To encourage socialization and interaction through participation in structured and spontaneous group activities
To provide a safe non-threatening environment in which skill development can be achieved.
To encourage social independence and self-reliance
To increase awareness of and encourage the development of new leisure activities.

Helps with housekeeping duties related to program operation as assigned

SAFETY AND

RISK MANAGEMENT:

Uphold safety and risk management strategies in support of and compliance with Park District policies, procedures, ordinances and practices
Familiarity with and effective implementation of the Employee Safety Manual, Emergency Response Plan, and Crisis Management Plan
Attend professional educational and safety trainings
Assist with emergency procedures and building evaluation
Utilize Personal Protective Equipment when performing duties, based on job tasks
Correct unsafe conditions and/or report them to supervisor
Promptly report hazardous conditions, accidents and injuries to supervisor
Complete incident/accident report forms and promptly forwards them to supervisor

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Regularly required to talk, hear or read
Frequently required to stand; walk; sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel
Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, or crawl
Occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds; and over 30 pounds with assistance
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception
