Role Overview
We are seeking a Construction Project Manager to oversee safety and quality assurance for complex construction projects. This role involves ensuring all field activities comply with safety regulations, construction codes, and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing safety programs, leading field oversight, and collaborating with project teams to resolve site issues and enhance safety outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
* Monitor daily field construction activities for adherence to approved drawings, specifications, schedules, and job safety requirements.
* Ensure compliance with applicable safety and quality requirements, including DOE directives and OSHA regulations.
* Lead safety and quality assurance efforts in the field, including the enforcement of job safety analysis and plans.
* Analyze construction processes and implement improvements to enhance safety and quality outcomes.
* Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and project managers to resolve site issues effectively.
* Apply field tools, checklists, and software, such as Procore and Bluebeam, to streamline documentation and compliance monitoring.
* Conduct site inspections to identify and correct unsafe conditions, and pause work when hazards are observed.
* Support root cause investigations and the development of corrective actions for incidents and near misses.
Required Qualifications
Education:
* A High School Diploma or GED is required.
* A Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering, science, business, or technology is required.
* Candidates without a Bachelor's degree will be evaluated based on experience, where two years of applicable experience is considered equivalent to one year of experience with a degree.
Experience:
* A minimum of 10 years of relevant construction project experience is required, with consideration for candidates with up to 25+ years of experience based on project complexity.
* Proven ability to lead safety and quality assurance efforts in the field.
* Extensive experience managing comprehensive safety and QA programs on complex construction projects.
Skills &
Certifications:
* OSHA 30-Hour Construction Training is required.
* Advanced understanding of construction methods, inspection protocols, and hazard mitigation strategies.
* Proficient in applying field tools and software to support documentation and compliance monitoring.
Preferred Qualifications
* A Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) certification is preferred.
* A second advanced professional certification may be accepted in lieu of a Master's degree.
Compensation & Benefits
Pay rate range: $35.00/hr to $80.00/hr.
