Field Safety Advisor | Large-Scale Solar Farm Join Our Team!
Professional Safety Solutions is seeking an experienced Safety Professional to oversee the safety protocols and compliance on a large-scale solar farm project in Sangamon County, IL.
Our ExpectationsHealth and Safety Professionals at Pro Safe serve in a dual role: initially operating in a consultative capacity by providing expert support, guidance, and motivation to operations management and employees at all levels. In addition, alongside management they are expected to be a hands‑on partner in delivering various safety initiatives and programs specifically to develop an excellent safety culture.
Key Responsibilities- Implement and oversee site‑specific safety programs to ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA 70E and other industry regulations.
- Conduct daily safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure proper safety practices are followed.
- Lead safety meetings, toolbox talks and training sessions to educate workers on best practices and hazard awareness.
- Investigate incidents, near misses and safety concerns, providing detailed reports and recommending corrective actions.
- Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), fall protection and other safety measures in accordance with site requirements.
- Collaborate with project managers, contractors and field personnel to integrate safety into daily operations.
- Maintain accurate safety records, documentation and reports in compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
- Act as a liaison between the company, clients and regulatory agencies on safety‑related matters.
- 5+ years of safety experience on utility‑scale solar construction projects.
- OSHA 510 certification required.
- NFPA 70E certification required.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, NFPA 70E and other industry safety standards.
- Proven ability to conduct safety training and promote a culture of safety.
- Excellent problem‑solving, communication and leadership skills.
- Relevant safety certifications (e.g., OSHA 500, Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent) preferred.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced construction environment.
- Willingness to travel to various project sites as needed.
This role will require working outdoors in various weather conditions and conducting regular site visits to solar farms. The candidate must be comfortable with a fast‑paced environment, and be able to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
