The Corporate Safety Director will oversee all aspects of the company’s safety program, including compliance, policy development, training strategy, risk mitigation, claims management, incident prevention, and safety culture initiatives across the organization. This individual will work closely with executive leadership, operations, HR, insurance partners, and field teams to ensure consistency, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout the business.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the company‑wide safety vision, strategy, and long‑term initiatives.
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve corporate safety policies and procedures.
- Standardize safety processes and expectations across all divisions and jobsites.
- Oversee company‑wide OSHA compliance and regulatory readiness.
- Manage incident reporting, investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
- Analyze safety trends, EMR performance, claims data, and KPI reporting.
- Partner with executive leadership on risk management and operational planning.
- Oversee safety budgeting, training programs, and departmental resources.
- Coordinate with insurance carriers, brokers, and third‑party safety consultants.
- Lead and mentor regional or field safety personnel.
- Ensure consistency in onboarding, orientation, and recurring training initiatives.
- Support preconstruction teams with safety planning and client compliance requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and strengthen overall company safety culture.
- 10+ years of construction safety experience with progressive leadership responsibility.
- Experience leading safety programs at a corporate or multi‑project level.
- Strong background in heavy civil, infrastructure, earthwork, utilities, paving, or related construction sectors.
- Extensive knowledge of OSHA regulations, risk management, and compliance standards.
- Experience managing safety metrics, EMR performance, and claims reduction strategies.
- Strong executive communication and leadership abilities.
- OSHA 500, CHST, CSP, or related certifications preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Occupational Health, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
