Construction Superintendent
We are seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to oversee community solar projects throughout Illinois. These projects range from 1 to 2.5 MW. The Construction Superintendent will manage the day-to-day operations and administrative duties on-site, ensuring the smooth progression of construction activities.
Responsibilities- Manage daily operations and administrative duties on the construction site.
- Report progress and safety updates daily to the Senior Construction Manager.
- Oversee and coordinate sub-vendors and work closely with their foremen.
- Enforce safety and regulatory policies and procedures.
- Set daily and weekly productivity standards for contractors and sub-contractors.
- Develop a 3-week look-ahead schedule and collaborate with the Senior Construction Manager to ensure timelines are met.
- Coordinate equipment deliveries with the logistics team and subcontractors.
- Review and manage project blueprints, plans, and specifics.
- Experience in construction management, particularly in commercial electrical or civil projects.
- Technical degree in Engineering or Construction Management, or extensive construction management experience.
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
- Experience managing sub-vendors.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly PDF, Word, and Excel.
- OSHA 10 certification.
- OSHA 30 certification (assistance available if expired).
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in solar projects.
- Electrician or electrical experience.
The work environment is a solar construction site with a company trailer, located across central and Northwest Illinois. The site will have multiple electrical and civil subcontractors present. Work hours are typically Monday to Friday, from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, totaling 40 hours a week. Overtime must be approved by the supervisor and is not common. The dress code requires construction attire, including jeans, a t-shirt, and proper personal protective equipment.
Current project locations include Browning, IL, and Flora, IL.
This is a Contract position based out of Nauvoo, IL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
