Job Summary
Varied schedule. Events take place mostly during the evenings and primarily on weekends. There may be daytime shifts occasionally. You are scheduled in accordance with booked events. Evenings and weekends will be required. Generally able to work around most student class schedules. 10 – 20 hours per week.
The Events Support Staff team provides all the set-up and tear‑down of events held at the museum. This team is also the on‑site support during the full run of the event. The museum hosts an average of three events each week. Types of events include, but are not limited to, evening dinners, weddings, holiday parties, daytime retreats, board meetings, museum festivals, corporate galas, etc.
The size of these events can range from 10 guests to 1,400 guests.

ScheduleEvents are held primarily in the evenings and on weekends. Daytime shifts may occur occasionally. Workers are scheduled based on booked events and must be available for evening and weekend work. The position requires 10 to 20 hours per week.
ResponsibilitiesPrimary responsibilities are the complete set‑up and take‑down of events; during the event, staff will monitor key locations in the museum for event activity according to the event type. Additional support and tasks will be assigned as needed. The position requires near constant movement and lifting of tables, chairs, and other furniture, and must be comfortable lifting more than 25 pounds.
Responsibilities also include:
- Providing museum guests, staff, caterers, and additional vendors with exceptional customer service.
- Receiving ongoing training of museum policies and procedures through museum meetings and activities.
- Attending Events Support staff meetings.
- Assisting with other duties as assigned.
- Weeksends and evenings availability REQUIRED.
- Previous event industry and customer service experience strongly preferred.
The University is a participating employer with Utah Retirement Systems (URS).
