Position OverviewThe Project Architect – Level 2 plays a key role in the development, coordination, and documentation of architectural projects from design development through construction administration. This position works closely with the Principal, Project Manager and Project Team, exercising professional judgment while taking responsibility for technical execution, consultant coordination, and portions of client interaction.
Key Responsibilities- Support the Project Manager in the execution of architectural projects across multiple phases
- Participate in client meetings, consultant coordination meetings, and internal design reviews
- Coordinate work with structural, MEP, civil, and specialty consultants
- Develop and coordinate design development and construction documents
- Ensure technical accuracy, constructability, and adherence to design intent
- Research and apply applicable building codes, zoning, and life safety requirements
- Assist with construction administration including RFIs, submittals, site visits, and punch lists
- Mentor junior staff as assigned
- Professional degree in Architecture (B.Arch or M.Arch)
- Licensed Illinois Architect or actively pursuing licensure
- 5–8 years of professional architectural experience
- Strong experience with construction documentation
- Proficiency in AutoCAD a must
Proficiency in Revit encouraged
- Familiarity with AIA contract documents
- Strong communication and coordination skills
- Illinois architectural license or reciprocity eligibility
- Experience supporting projects through construction administration
- Ability to independently manage defined portions of a project
- Ability to handle many projects at one time
