This is a full-time, on-site Interior Designer role based in Barrington, IL. The Interior Designer will plan and develop interior concepts for custom luxury residences, including layouts, material selections, finishes, and furnishings that align with each client’s vision and lifestyle.
Typical responsibilities include collaborating with clients and internal teams, preparing design presentations and mood boards, and coordinating with architects, builders, and vendors throughout the project lifecycle. The role involves producing and reviewing drawings, specifications, and documentation to support construction and installation. The Interior Designer will also manage FF&E selections and budgets, conduct site visits to monitor progress and quality, and ensure designs are delivered on time and in line with brand standards.
Qualifications- Strong Interior Design skills with experience in residential or luxury home projects, including concept development and finish selections.
- Proficiency in Space Planning to create functional, aesthetically balanced layouts that support client lifestyles.
- Foundational knowledge of Architecture and construction practices to support coordination with design and build teams.
- Ability to produce and interpret Construction Drawings and documentation used by contractors and trades.
- Experience with FF&E (furniture, fixtures, and equipment) selection, specification, and coordination with vendors.
- Proficiency in relevant design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Sketch Up, or similar) and Microsoft Office or equivalent tools.
- Strong client-facing communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills, with a collaborative, problem-solving mindset.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, timelines, and priorities while maintaining attention to detail and high quality standards.
- Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Knowledge of building codes, materials, and construction processes; experience in high-end or custom home environments is a plus.
