Physician Assistant – Neurosurgery

UChicago Medicine Advent Health is seeking a highly motivated Physician Assistant to join our growing neurosurgery team. The PA will play a critical role in delivering high-quality, comprehensive care to patients with complex neurological and spine disorders. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment, assisting in both surgical and non-surgical management. The responsibilities include outpatient clinic twice per week, in-hospital rounds, and surgical assist in neurosurgical cases.

The ideal candidate will join a collaborative team comprised of 4 Neurosurgeons and 4 Advanced Practice Providers.

• Perform comprehensive patient evaluations, including history-taking, physical examinations, and diagnostic testing interpretation for neurosurgery consults
• Assist in the management of preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative neurosurgery patients
• Surgical first assist in the operating room for neurosurgery cases
• Full Time; 5 days per week plus one weekend per month of Neurosurgery call
• Outpatient clinic weekly
• Weekend call coverage, with Attending, one weekend per month
• Weekly schedule: 7:30am to 4:00pm
• Annual Salary: $118K - $128K

Qualifications:

• Licensed as a Physician Assistant in Illinois or eligible for licensure
• Certification as a Physician Assistant
• Surgical First Assist certification required
• Experience in Neurosurgery, preferred
• Surgical experience is preferred, but motivated candidates are encouraged to apply
• Strong clinical decision-making, communication, and interpersonal skills
